World Environment Day, Let Us Protect The Global Environment Together

On June 5, 1972, the United Nations convened the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm, Sweden. The conference adopted the Declaration on the Human Environment and proposed that June 5th of each year be designated as World Environment Day. In October of the same year, the 27th session of the UN General Assembly passed the resolution and accepted the proposal. World Environment Day is one of the main media for the United Nations to promote global environmental awareness, raise government awareness and take action on environmental issues.

Every year, the United Nations system and Governments carry out activities on the day of June 5 to promote and emphasize the importance of protecting and improving the human environment.
